When we talk about restoring education after conflict, the first image may be a building or classroom that needs repair. But a classroom does not become functional simply because a door is fixed or a wall is repainted.
A safe learning environment needs more than infrastructure. It needs appropriate learning conditions, educational materials, educators able to respond to different learning levels, clear safeguarding measures, and a space where children can feel safe and connected.
That is why we view education as an interconnected system. Support may include formal and non-formal learning, remedial education, foundational skills, teacher development, school reintegration, and learning spaces adapted to the local context.
Bringing a classroom back to life ultimately means restoring opportunity: for a child to learn, for an educator to teach, and for a community to recover an essential part of everyday life.
